Hi - I am now spending summers camping in Durango, Colorado (May through September) and winters in Northwest Florida (Fort Walton Beach - just west of Destin) in my "real" home.
After attending Sego JHS (Georgia), Patton JHS (Kansas), Butler HS (Georgia), and graduating from Santa Rita HS (Arizona), I returned to Augusta, Georgia for two years. I then relocated to Alexandria, Virgina and worked at George Washington University Medical Center in D.C. for three years before finally settling in Northwest Florida in late 1977 (a happily retired military brat!).
A comfortably single, marriage survivor, having raised a mid-life surprise (son born in 1995!!!), my winter home is an A-frame within driving distance (10 minutes) of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world (white, sugary sand and crystal clear water) and 20 minutes from Destin. Summer home is Durango/Bayfield, Colorado, camping (glamping) and exploring the spectacular mountains.
My career has been predominantly medical/administrative, working first as a medical secretary/medical assistant, then as an administrative/executive secretary, then as a medical practice manager/medical assista...Expand for more
nt in a one physician office as the sole employee. Also did medical transcription and editing until 3 years ago (dying art due to electronic medical records and voice recognition). Current employment as a substitute grade school teacher allows both financial freedom and personal flexibility.
In 1973, I graduated from medical assistant school in Augusta, Georgia. In 1996, after what seems like a lifetime of being a professional student, I FINALLY received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of West Florida.
Right now I am enjoying my free spirited life, loving the outdoors (beach, snorkeling, camping), festivals, and traveling, as well as movies and many types of music. Travel includes frequent cruises throughout the Caribbean for zip-lining, SCUBA diving, sailboat racing, snorkeling with sharks and rays, flying in a WWII biplane, and walking up waterfalls as well as adventures in Colorado of hot air ballooning, white water rafting, and horseback riding.. Major adrenalin junkie!!!
